Consumer Evaluations
I have a modest squadron of mini helicopters and this one is by far the finest so far. I read terrific critiques of the Syma S107. I was rather pleased with it compared to some of the older Syma models. Then I saw the positive testimonials for this and thought I would give it a go. It flies extremely well! Quiter than the other seven helicopters I have and so stable, smooth, and responsive. It is a little slow with forward and reverse momentum, but not bad. Slow is less complicated to control...perhaps that was intentional. We fly these just about every day in the office and this hands down outperforms everthing else.
For those comparing models, right here you go:
Syma S109 Apache- Exceptional
Syma S105G (Sport Helicopter) Quite Great -Fastest, stable, but somewhat loud, durable metal frame
Syma S107G- (Sport Helicopter) Quite superior- nearly identical to S105 but a little slower, diverse scheme, older?
Syma S026 Chinook- Looks cool, flies ok, but difficult to manage. As well considerably power for its weight 'Cieling magnet'
Syma S013 Black Hawk- Horrible! Especially light, spins uncontrollably, fragile
Syma S013 Apache- See S013 Black Hawk review. (buddy purchased this one particular to join the fun: absolutely nothing but regrets)
Heard the S108G Cobra is really good as well but haven't tried it. My deployment to Iraq is pretty much over, so I quite possibly won't be acquiring any way more toys.
What a distinction a gyro tends to make! Extraordinary...I tried 1 of the 1st gen micro R/C copters (no gyro on those) not lengthy after they came out, and located them to be extremely tough to control and not significantly fun mainly because of it.
This generation with the gyro is just incredible although...SO stable, SO easy - but not boring. There is still a finding out curve for complete R/C noobies that will make this a outstanding initial R/C copter, but I look at it virtually like a challenge...trying to master this little beast is Enjoyable!
This also basically looks like a real helicopter, compared to the ones I purchased previously, which looked like....properly like R/C copters - entirely unrealistic.
The LED lights are amazing so you can fly at night (my youngsters Love that - the dog...not so substantially), and the factor even appears to behave like a genuine helicopter, with ground effect and getting to minimize speed (thrust?) to tilt forward (I am no pilot or physicist, but I do know that the preceding models I tried did not give me any kind of sense of "this factor FEELS like I am flying a true helicopter!")
Gonna quit now since I sound like I perform for the enterprise (not even confident who the company is basically, but whoever it is, they sorely will need an English native to write the English portion of the instruction manual!)
Cannot advise this sufficient. Simple simple five stars.
FYI if you are interested in modding your Syma (specifically, the low-priced, quick and amazing tail rotor mod that tends to make it faster and additional agile), you really should acquire the model that looks like the R/C copter (107G I think). Discovered this out the tough way, but I nevertheless favor this one particular for the looks. Video of the mod outcomes: [...]
