Buyer Testimonials
So..... Myself and a variety of co-workers decided to make these helicopters part of our down time although over here in the middle of nowhere... We have quite a few about the shop suitable now, and I purchased this 1...... the other guys all spent about $20 on theirs.... the Syma 107, 108 and 109... that is the Sport, Cobra, and Apache... and I spent $40 on this one when it was on sale (now it is $50). This ones handling doesn't even come close to comparing to theirs... I read up alot more on the evaluations, and for some reason everybody says it is superb, but I'm thinking they've just never tried the Symas. I even ordered a further knuckle that holds the stabilizer bar to the top rotor, (only came with one particular), in hopes that it could possibly make it alot more stable and manageable.. it did not... Also, right after crashing about 15 occasions, the tail rotor snapped off at the bottom of the curve... I superglued it back on about four occasions, and then drilled holes on either side of the crack and safety wired it back on, and superglued again :) gotta say, it has held up nicely right after all the crashes, and it is manageable to fly, and IT SHOOTS MISSLES which is the main benefit over the Symas........... but overall.... the Symas are surely additional agile, and conveniently controlled (three I named anyways), and the batteries last a small longer, and they are WAY quieter, and for less than half the price tag, I consider I would have just gone with one of those.
I upped it to a 4 star, only because it has withstood a major beating, and it shoots missles. It did require the repair of the tail rotor tho, and it does not handle as really good as it should for the value. and it's loud.
I owned the Syma 108 just before I purchased this one. My evaluation will compare in between the two.
Cons:
1)Compared to Syma this one particular flies like a fat cow. Rotating left and appropriate is really responsive but forward and reverse takes like 5 seconds to kick in just after you move the manage which is actually annoying and prone to crashes. The altitude adjustment response is also poor.
two)This 1 is considerably noisier. Sounds like a flying lawnmower.
three)Also the left throttle put to use to manage altitude is not spring loaded to throttle down when released like Syma which tends to make it harder to control the altitude. (A tiny workaround of tying a rubber band to the throttle stick and anchoring the other finish on the bottom of the controller helped. This keeps the tension on the throttle in the downward direction, which automatically pulls the throttle down when you release. This assists control the altitude a lot far better.)
four)Almost double the price tag of Syma.
Pros:
1)Fires Missiles!
Not so entertaining for my cat but super fun for me. I am planing to modify the mechanism to hopefully squirt water rather.
I wish the Syma had this alternative.
two)Nicely constructed. The materials utilized to make this one particular feel alot more solid then the Syma.
